Development Dialogue: Does Demographic Change Pay a Dividend for Health and Nutrition?
6 March 2015-The World Bank Group held an online dialogue on the demographic dividend from February 23 to March 6, 2015. The dialogue addressed how demographic changes can have positive impacts on health and nutrition outcomes. The panel participating in the dialogue included: Ruth Levine (Hewlett Foundation), Ariel Pablos-Mendez and Ellen Starbird (USAID), Shawn Baker (Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation) and Alex Ezeh (African Population and Health Research Center).
Realizing the Demographic Dividend in the Sahel
September 22, 2014–During the 69th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, a high-level side event took place on “Realizing the Demographic Dividend in the Sahel.” This event was organized by the World Bank Group and UNFPA. A webcast of the event is available online.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health produced a statement to accompany this event. “Realizing the Demographic Dividend: The Science in Service to the Sahel” was signed by 43 scientists and members of the national and international research community.
